What's the 4 Hour Sunday Deal?

We are only open for a few hours on Sundays, but that's good news for you and your pocketbook.  Rent most of our items for the 4 hour rate on Sunday and keep it until Monday at 9:00 AM.  If there is no 4 hour rate for the item you are looking for, then the deal doesn't apply.

Is a deposit required to reserve rentals?

Generally all orders require a 50% deposit.  All orders also require a valid credit card number on file to ensure items are returned in the condition received (clean, dry, not broken).

Are deposits refundable if I cancel my order?

Up until 7 days before your scheduled delivery date/pickup date your deposit is 100% refundable.  After that date the 50% deposit is non refundable.  Bounce Houses are an exception, these  are 100% refundable in the event of inclement weather.  If there is greater than a 40% chance of rain on the day of your rental we will refund 100% of bounce house deposits. 

When can I pick up my order?

Items can be picked up from the time we open till 15 minutes prior to our closing time.  

Monday - Friday 7:30 A.M.  and 4:45 P.M.

Saturday 8:00 A.M.. - 12:45 P.M..

Sunday (summer only) 10:00 A.M.- 11:45 P.M.

Does Plainfield General Rental set up of tables and chairs?'

No, we do not offer setup for tables and chairs.  The delivery team only drops off to the driveway or garage.  Additional fees will be incurred by the customer for deliveries or pick ups from the back yard.  Delivery into a home is not permitted for insurance purposes. 

What does the delivery charge include?

The delivery charge includes drop off and pick up of your rental items from your driveway or garage.  It is the customers responsibility to have your driveway clear for the delivery team.  Items must be picked up in the condition they were dropped off.  Additonal fees will be incurred by the customers for items not broken down, stacked, clean, dry or filled with fuel (as applicable).  

How far in advance do I need to reserve the rentals I want? 

There is no such thing as "too early". The earlier you place your order the better chance those items will be available to you. Bottom line: PLAN AHEAD.

What if I need to rent something close to your closing time, but don't want to pay for the full day rate?

Most items in our inventory have an overnight rate for items picked up after 3 pm.  For most items it would be the 4 hour rate and 3 hours for hourly items.  The item would then be due back by 9am the next day.  Call us for details and availability for your item.

Why do I have to call JULIE when renting a tent?

Our tents have 2 foot long stakes which could potentially damage underground utilities.

What's the difference between a quote and reservation?

A quote is merely a statement of current costs for the items you have requested.  The items are not reserved in your name from a quote and may not be available for you to rent if you call back at a later date.  A reservation usually requires a deposit of 50% of the total order cost.  Once a reservation has been made the items are reserved for you on the date/time noted in the reservation.

Are your tables and chairs clean?

Yes.  Our tables and chairs are clean.  Each and every chair is individually inspected and cleaned after each rental.  Additionally, our chairs are covered in storage to keep them from getting dusty.

My event is only 1 day.  Why do I have to pay for a 3 day rental?

Most party items are 3 day rentals, which is the minimum cost of the item leaving the store.  You don't have to keep it the full 3 days.  This gives customers the opportunity to pick the item up the day before the event and drop it off the day after the event.

Can I reserve an item via Email?

No.  We require a deposit and a credit card on file for all reservations and it is never safe to send credit card information through Email.
